Many of us are unaware of the costly and inefficient model of traditional clothing donations. According to ABC,
Australian charitable organisations are spending a staggering $13 million per year sending unsaleable donations to landfill.
Archive Recycling was born to provide a solution by implementing a proper sorting process to make sure the textiles end up in the most suitable place.
HOW IT WORKS?
1. Send your ready-to-retire clothes to the address below:
THE ARCHIVE PLACE
SHOP 33, 1 RIDER BOULEVARD,
RHODES, NSW, 2138
We recommend using a courier service by Sendle. It offers the most affordable delivery service and it is Carbon Neutral!
2. Please email through your tracking number to email@example.com
And we will send you a 10% discount code within 24 hours.
3. Once we receive your donations, we will sort & categorise each item based on its next possible use:
If your items are sent in a suitable condition,
we will donate them to one of our charity partners for someone else to love.
If your items have minor faults, such as missing buttons or a broken zip,
we will repair them before donating to our charity partners, preventing charities categorising them as “unsaleable” and sending them to landfills.
If your items are damaged or stained, we will then sort them by fiber makeup ahead of recycling, as different fibers require different recycling routes.
Recycled fibers are then turned into new yarns or shredded and used for rags and insulation.
This process is not a small investment, but we are committed to our mission of making fashion circular and believe the investment is worth it for our planet and our next generations.
